My husband asked if I really like this…
Early in the morning, before the sun rises, and the stars still shine bright in the sky, I’m at my desk writing.
My morning starts super early because my entire day goes better if I’m able to get a few things checked off my list before I have to start the day—kids, work, household tasks, etc. But while I’m sitting at my desk writing, or in today’s case, editing, I’m in my zone.
I’m relaxed in my chair, soft music playing, a little light shining, heater warming my legs—it’s a cozy vibe.
But I guess to my husband, this morning, it looked like boredom.
It’s more like peace. Similar to the ease that comes along with reading a good book. The rest of the world falls away, and you’re swept up by the lives of the characters. It’s soothing, rejuvenating.
So, do I really like this? I don’t think I’d wake up before dawn if I didn’t. But yes, I really like writing. It’s the one thing I imagine myself doing for years to come.
What’s the one thing you can do with ease, and hope to do far into your future?
By the way, on his way out the house, my husband called me outside to look at what we thought could be super bright stars—turns out it’s Jupiter and Venus. If you have a chance get up early tomorrow to catch a glance!
